SUMMARY:A Different Burnout Café - The Exhaustion of Performing a Self
DESCRIPTION:The self-help group ABC for english speaking people online regularly takes place every third saturday from 3 to 5 pm via Zoom. \nYou can join the meeting at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/805791047 10 minutes before the official start time. This gives you time to settle in\, chat with others\, or resolve any technical issues before the event begins. We place great importance on everyone participating in the event with both video and audio. This is the only way to ensure a trusting exchange among participants. Please test your camera and audio before joining the call. You can find further support for ZOOM here. \n  \nTopic: The Exhaustion of Performing a Self\n \nBurnout\, Identity\, and the Pressure to Function: The emotional cost of appearing “fine\,” staying productive\, and maintaining a socially acceptable version of yourself. \nWe will explore how to reduce internal pressure\, reconnect with a more authentic sense of self beyond performance\, and develop healthier ways of relating to expectations and self-worth. \n  \nThrough our support groups\, we help provide emotional relief and mutual support. Participants offer each other respectful and helpful advice. Participation helps build self-confidence and self-esteem. Early warning signs can be recognized in time\, and the social support network is strengthened through interaction with other participants. The self-help groups help build an individual crisis network and a corresponding crisis plan. Exercises help to successfully expand the strategies for managing the condition. \nJoining via https://us02web.zoom.us/j/805791047 is always possible and recommended 10 minutes before the official start. This time is for settling in\, chatting with one another\, or resolving technical issues before we begin. We value everyone participating with both video and audio\, as this is the only way to ensure a trusting exchange. Please test your camera and audio when joining. Further support for Zoom can be found here. Once the official start time has passed\, joining is no longer possible\, as late arrivals are even more disruptive online than at in-person events. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you! \nRegistration\nYou can always participate without registering. For the organization of the meeting\, registration would be helpful. \n\n\n\nThe monthly self-help group encourages participants to try out new perspectives on a specific topic\, to discuss the internal and external effects of the exercises\, to explore new courses of action\, and to re-evaluate their own life situation. Additionally\, participants have the opportunity to engage in a personal exchange of experiences with others.\nThe event is conducted by the self-help group A different burnout cafe in English with the support of the Federal Association for Burnout and Depression (Bundesverband Burnout und Depression e.V.).\nFurther events can be found here.\nInformation about the condition can be found here on the Federal Association’s website\n\n\n\nHost\nPascale
